 This course provides an overview of the theory and practice of wastewater treatment. The course will cover wastewater treatment concepts and motivating frameworks including key constituents and quality standards, and the fate of wastewater constituents in the environment. Physical-chemical processes as applied to wastewater treatment will be described followed by a discussion of biological treatment methods for wastewater. Types of wastewater treatment technologies will also be discussed. Field trip will be organized to a local wastewater treatment facility.
